CHAPTER TEN

The Naughty Nine as I had nicknamed us were all set and ready for the off. We were flying out on Friday evening and returning Monday lunchtime. I caught the train to Manchester airport and met the rest of the group at the check in desks. I was carrying a small bag that I didn’t have to check-in whereas Faye and Kat looked as if they were travelling the world for a year. Faye said that my entire luggage was the same size as her makeup bag. The boys of course had packed light with a few shirts and a toothbrush. Once we were all checked in and through security, we went straight to the bar to get the holiday started. David bought us all a glass of champagne and made a toast.

“Here’s to the Naughty Nine, good friends, good times and good memories yet to make. Cheers.”

“Cheers,” we all raised our glasses.

“I’ve been looking forward to this all day,” said Mark.

“The drink or the holiday?” asked Richard.

“Both,” he said “Three nights of party and madness with you lot will be hilarious.”

The rest of the passengers looked at us with expressions that said they didn’t want to be seated close to us. We filed onto the plane and took our seats; we were in three rows of three so could chat to each other during the flight. Once we’d taken off, the air crew came round with the drinks service so wine and beer were flowing. It was the quickest three hour flight I could have imagined. We were landing at Malaga in no time.

As we disembarked from the plane the Spanish air felt warm and I could smell that heat you only get near the Med. We stuck together at the airport and we all waited for each other while bags were collected. David had organised a minibus to take us to our accommodation. The journey on the minibus was about an hour so by the time we got there we were starting to feel grotty. It was quite late, around 10:30pm when we got to our apartments so we wouldn’t be able to get our bearings until the next day. The bungalows where we were staying were for couples who were part of the lifestyle. There
